Steps to make Banana Flower Rice:
  1. Clean the Banana blossom and chop finely. Put this in buttermilk until cooking. - - Dry roast cumin seeds, coriander seeds and grind into coarse powder. - - Cook tuvar dal with a pinch of turmeric in pressure cooker with some water. Once done keep aside.
  2. Now steam the banana flower by adding pinch of turmeric. Keep aside. Don't steam too much just steam for 6 to 8 minutes. - - Heat oil in pan add all the ingredients under "To Temper" one by one. Once the dals turns golden colour add the chopped onion, green chilli and ginger. Add salt.
  3. Saute the onion until turns glass stage add cooked tuvar dal and saute a bit. - - Now add shredded coconut and banana flower. Stir carefully and turns the flame to sim. - - Now add the cumin coriander powder and saute a bit. Now add the rice and adjust the salt. - - Before turning off the flame garnish with lemon juice and coriander leaves. Mix a bit. Serve hot.
