Hey everyone, it’s me, Dave, welcome to my recipe page. Today, I’m gonna show you how to prepare a special dish, hokkien noodles. One of my favorites. This time, I am going to make it a bit unique. This is gonna smell and look delicious.

Hokkien Noodles is one of the most favored of recent trending foods in the world. It’s appreciated by millions daily. It is simple, it’s fast, it tastes yummy. They are nice and they look wonderful. Hokkien Noodles is something that I have loved my whole life.

The ingredients needed to make Hokkien Noodles:
  1. Get 1 packet thick Hokkien Noodles (440g)
  2. Make ready 1 tp corn starch + 1 - 2 tbsp water
  3. Prepare 1 C shrimp (or fishballs)
  4. Prepare 1 C meat slices
  5. Take 1 C cut green vegies
  6. Make ready 4 cloves garlic - finely chopped
  7. Take 3 tbsp lard/ cooking oil
  8. Prepare 4 tbsp or more caramel soy sauce/can use dark soy sauce
  9. Make ready 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  10. Take 1 tsp sesame oil
  11. Get 1 tsp chicken cube or chicken powder seasoning (to taste)
  12. Get 1/2 C water or chicken stock/pork stock
  13. Take 2 tsp sugar
  14. Make ready Note:
  15. Make ready 1 . Some people use animal fat like lard or beef dripping to cook this noodle
  16. Make ready 2 . Marinara mix can be used in placed of fish balls/fish cakes
Instructions to make Hokkien Noodles:
  1. There are variations of hokkien noodle. Choose the thick one. Soak noodles in boiling water to soften. Drain and set aside. Since i don’t take pork or lard, i use other type of animal fat. Below is a picture of animal fat i use at home.
  2. Heat wok. Pour in oil (or lard if using). Add garlic then meat slices, cook for 2 to 3 mins.
  3. In separate bowl, mix all the sauces- cooking caramel (if using), dark soy sauce, sesame oil, ground pepper. Pour this mixture into the wok. Add water, sugar and chicken cube (if needed). Stir. Then add noodle and cut green vegies of your choice. Next Add corn starch mixture. Let it simmer again till gravy thickens. Adjust taste to your liking. If using lard, add another spoon of lard to the noodle at this stage. Stir and remove from the heat.
  4. Serve hot.
