- Wash and Cut cabbage as shown in the pic below. The cuttings must not be too big or too small. Do not use the hard part and the thick leaves. Peel and cut potatoes in small dices. Cut green chillies in your desired shape and size. Cut tomatoes in your favourite size and shape. Heat oil, crackle mustard seeds. Next add turmeric powder and asafoetida. Now add green chillies and fry for a second.
- Then add potatoes and combine everything. Fry for a minute or 1/2. Add cabbage and salt.
- Combine everything very well. Cover and cook. Stir frequently to avoid scorching. You may have to add a little water (50ml) if the cabbage is not fresh and hence the shake looks dry. Add tomatoes once the potatoes are tender.
- Cover again and cook till the tomatoes are cooked. The shake should have a little water (raso) as shown in the pic. Turn off the stove. Garnish with coriander and serve.
- Note: green chillies can be replaced by red chilli powder. In that case, add the chilli powder at the time of adding tomatoes.
Put the potatoes on two plates, split them and fill with the lentils. Spoon over the yogurt, garnish with coriander and serve with the coleslaw and lemon wedges for squeezing.
